Direct Reduced Iron
Direct-reduced iron (DRI), also called sponge iron, is produced from direct reduction of iron ore (in solid form of lumps, pellets or fines) by a reducing gas derived from natural gas or coal. It is a manufactured metallic material produced by removal of iron oxide at 800-1050 °C without reaching the melting point of iron by interaction with reductants (H2+CO).
FTX is engaged in the sourcing of DRI from origins that offer geographical and cost benefits for the customers that we serve.
